We have a new home, and we want to celebrate it with you.

Join Queer Wellness Center (QWC) on Tuesday, November 10, at 3:30 p.m. as we officially celebrate the opening of our new home at the Merovan Center in Greenville.

The Upstate SC LGBT+ Chamber of Commerce will lead our ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a reception with refreshments, tours of the new Center, and opportunities to connect with our team and community partners.

More Than a New Address. A Place to Belong.

Queer Wellness Center is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of LGBTQ+ people across Upstate South Carolina by connecting individuals with affirming healthcare, mental health support, essential resources, and community.

Today, QWC serves more than 75 people each week through our free LEAP peer-support program, BLOOM adolescent mental health programs and more. Through AFFIRM SC, we've also trained more than 2,000 professionals, helping businesses, healthcare providers, and community organizations create more welcoming and affirming environments.

Our new home represents an exciting next chapter in that mission. We envision a Center where LGBTQ+ people can find support, build meaningful connections, access resources, and experience a genuine sense of belonging.

Beyond our established programs, we are creating a welcoming community space where people can gather, connect, and participate in activities without financial barriers.

What You'll Find at Our New Center

Our new space brings together established programs and opportunities for future growth, including:

• LEAP: Free peer-support groups providing connection, understanding, and community for transgender and gender-diverse individuals.
• BLOOM: Professionally facilitated therapeutic groups supporting the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ+ adolescents.
• Community Resources: A resource closet offering clothing, personal care items, and other essential supplies.
• Community Gathering Space: A welcoming environment for connection, educational workshops, meetings, and community events.
• Opportunities for Growth: Plans for a queer literature library, creative activities, book clubs, social gatherings, and additional community programming.
• Community Partnerships: Space to strengthen relationships with other organizations working to improve LGBTQ+ health and well-being throughout the Upstate.

Our goal is simple: to create a place where LGBTQ+ people feel welcomed, supported, connected, and empowered to thrive.
