Description
Operation Rainbow Shield was created to ensure that everyone can enjoy the Upstate Black Pride festival without fear of harassment. Our goal is to provide a buffer between protestors and festival-goers by using rainbow umbrellas and noise to drown out hateful speech. Our purpose is not to try to get any of the protestors to change their minds. We are not looking to engage with the protestors. Our presence is purely peaceful and non-confrontational.
